Packaging materials

The first things you need to get are definitely some materials that act as containers, such as cardboard boxes or padded envelopes .
Of course, cardboard boxes are ideal for medium-sized objects, while padded envelopes can be good for much smaller objects. An important thing is to evaluate what size is most suitable, given that, especially when it comes to boxes, there are really all kinds.
However, the most used boxes are the 30x20x20 ones, inside which you can insert a great variety of objects.
If, then, as your business grows, you also want to add a brand on the boxes , then I inform you that it is really a great idea and that it is also really easy to implement, since you can find various online services that offer this possibility. Obviously, a branded box could cost you a little more than a blank one.
If you want some advice from us on which boxes or padded envelopes to buy, we leave you below some links to products that we consider valid.

Sealing Tools

Of course, once you have found the container, it must be closed, or rather sealed! To achieve this, you can use sealing tools and we at SPS Fulfillment strongly recommend using special adhesive tape.
For boxes, tape is undoubtedly the best solution. For envelopes, however, these are often self-sealing and therefore it may not be necessary to add additional closures.
If you want to have a more professional tool that allows you to apply adhesive tape faster and better, you could think about purchasing an adhesive tape dispenser .
Labeling Tools

As you may already know, you will also need to apply a label containing all the shipping information to each box.
A fairly slow method for applying labels is to print them and stick them with adhesive tape. However, especially if you have to label many boxes or envelopes, we recommend using a thermal adhesive label printer , so you can print your labels really quickly and conveniently.
Of course, it goes without saying that in addition to the printer you also need to purchase special rolls of adhesive paper to install inside it.
Furthermore, you can also find Bluetooth or Wi-Fi thermal printers on the market, which can easily connect to a smartphone or tablet.

Other useful tools

One last piece of advice we would like to give you is to protect your products inside the packages, especially inside the boxes!
In fact, you will soon notice that an object often “dances” inside a box, since some space remains free.
A “crude” and sometimes unprofessional method that some people use at the beginning of their business is to fill the empty spaces with newspaper balls. Nobody forbids doing it, but a customer who receives a package at home with advertising balls for a supermarket inside will not think at all that it is a serious company/entrepreneur.
Precisely for this reason, we recommend two things: either using polystyrene balls or using bubble wrap .
